  • Yield: 8 patties 1x

Description

Sweet, savory and a little spicy.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb pork sausage
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/4 tsp onion powder
  • 3/4 tsp kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 1/4 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tsp brown sugar
  • a few grinds of fresh cracked pepper
  • 1/8 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl mix all the dry ingredients (this will help evenly distribute the spices)
  2. In a medium bowl combine ground pork, dry ingredients and maple syrup, mix by hand until evenly combined
  3. Divide meat into 8 patties
  4. Fry on medium low heat until gold brown, 3-4 minutes per side

Notes

You don’t want your pan too hot because the maple syrup will start to burn. I use a non stick skillet

This freezes really well. Wrap the patties in parchment and put in a freezer bag to use later. Add another minute or two to your cook time.
